What is Beowulf?

Inspired by the strength and presence of the titular heroic legend, BEOWULF was founded by Zoe (Xin), an international creative director, photographer, and art director with a background grounded in darkroom practice, alternative processes, and high-fashion editorial work. After nearly a decade spent building her career across NYC and Shanghai—with work recognized in over a dozen international exhibitions—Zoe returned home to Toronto to focus on her passion - animals.

A graduate of the famous School of Visual Arts whoe thesis bio-art project EQUIVALENT EXCHANGE was showcased at the highly renowned Masters Exhibit, Zoe brings her signature visual language to animal portraiture. Defined by strong geometry, dreamy visuals, and precise lighting, BEOWULF rejects standard bright aesthetics to capture the quiet dignity and individuality of every subject in fine-art prints designed for modern interiors.

Zoe lives in Toronto with two cats, two dogs, and a turtle, with long-term plans to establish an animal sanctuary.
